But the smartphone shows its true strength with the quad-camera team on the back. The 64 megapixel Samsung GW1 sensor is equipped with an f/1.89 aperture and offers PDAF support. An 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 119-degree field of view complements the powerful main camera and allows for appealing panoramic shots. Close objects from a distance of 2cm on the other hand can be photographed with the 5-megapixel macro camera. A 2-megapixel depth sensor, which is responsible for bokeh effects, completes the picture.

Best results thanks to AI support
As with the front camera, the images taken with the quad-camera are enhanced by artificial intelligence. On the one hand, the EIS ensures that restless hand movements no longer lead to blurred results. Especially: The EIS is offered for the main camera as well as for the wide-angle sensor. The Ultra Nightscape Mode ensures even better results in unfavorable lighting conditions. A lot is also offered regarding video recording. Recordings in 4k with 30 FPS are no problem for the Redmi Note 9S. Slow Motion videos can be recorded at a resolution of 720p with up to 960 frames per second.

Large display, small dimensions
Xiaomi also shows itself from an absolutely high-quality side on the screen. It measures a proud 6.67 inches. The built-in IPS panel offers a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, and the high screen to body ratio achieved by the Punch Hole front camera is a real specialty in this price class. As with the Samsung devices, this is positioned in the middle. Due to the absence of a disturbing notch, the smartphone measures only 165.5 x 76.68 x 8.8 mm despite its large display and weighs only 209 grams. A perfect hand flatterer.

Nobody offers more features than this
The Redmi Note 9S is a device of the lower middle class. This is hard to believe in view of the rich equipment. The new smartphone from Xiaomi is based on modern standards. The current 802.11 ac standard is offered within known networks. Thanks to FDD LTE, high bandwidth is also guaranteed in the mobile network.
